In my house Teapots are not just for tea, ain’t it pretty! I thought id try my hand at dyeing some flowers, its a really simple process, all you need is food colouring and patience.

I used gel food colouring, all you do is add a couple of drops to fresh water, snip the stem of your flower at an angle and pop it in. White flowers are the best to use when doing this, the petals absorb the colour much better. The best colour’s to use are darker shades such as red and blue.

This was the effect after only 2 days, its very subtle but very pretty, the longer you leave the flowers the more dramatic the colour change will be. These flowers are Chrysanthemums but I think next time i’ll try it with White Roses and leave them a while longer. If you decide to give it a go, please tag me via Instagram i’d love to see it.
