I don’t have the space at home for a Summer House but that doesn’t stop me from swooning over those that do. There’s something very special about these outdoor havens, whether its a spot to have a glass of wine, a cup of tea, to read, write, play or just a place where you can look out onto your garden and relax, they’re an essential part of many peoples outdoor spaces and you can certainly see why. Through my Instagram I have come across some amazing and Inspiring accounts, four of which have kindly allowed me to share with you their Summer Houses.
1.The Summer House above belongs to the very lovely Louisa at aliceandnana ,I don’t know about you but I could sit here for hours! It has a very whimsical, magical feeling about it, almost like at some point a fairy or two might fly in! Double glazed doors provide a welcoming entrance, the pale pastel painted dresser adorned with treasures provides a beautiful backdrop to the elegant bistro table that sits before it, the whole space is filled with character and is clearly very loved by its owner.
2.Now is this a feast for the eyes? you don’t quite know where to look first right? The lady who owns this is Marlene at Womanofthehouse she is a Writer and Artist and this is her private space to do what she loves. I just love the pale blue crates, baskets and linens and you can see that every inch of this space has been used to its potential, the beautiful large mirror is cleverly used to provide a feeling of space and light and who doesn’t need a positive quote or 2 in their lives? It would be impossible to feel blue in this Summer House.
3. The Summerhouse above belongs to Pauline at hugsandhearts_ Ah Pretty pastels.. beautiful, clean and fresh you can see why Pauline enjoys spending time in here, the pastel shades against the white walls create a a calm and relaxing environment, for me this whole space is heaven! Cushions, bunting and blankets make it a welcoming and comfortable place to look out onto the garden and what a beautiful garden it is!
4.Now I wasn’t about to leave out the little Ladies was I ? This little pink dream house belongs to Sarah at Pretty.vintage.floral When I was a little girl I used to dream about a pink house with a picket fence, truth be told, I still do! This has got to be every little girls dream play house, with their own little garden to potter about in, a resident Kitty, little curtains and window boxes. I would have hours of fun here, nevermind the kids! Sarah’s choice of colours are stunning and she has created a little slice of prettiness that her daughters will enjoy and remember for years to come.
A big thank you to the ladies who provided the inspiration for this post
