The simplicity of these Apple & Raisin turnovers is what makes them so wonderful. A shop bought puff pastry sheet, a dollop of Apple Chunks, a scattering of Raisins and a sprinkling of Cinnamon and Tada! An easy, deliciously quick Apple desert.

How to make Apple and Raisin turnovers
(As always the full detailed recipe and video is at the end of the post on the recipe card)
Ingredients
- Apples, peeled, cored & cubed
- Lemon juice
- Granulated sugar
- Raisins
- Cinnamon
- Readymade Sheet of Puff pastry
- Egg
- Water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°c
- Place the Apples, lemon juice and sugar in a pan heat on low heat for a few minutes to soften the Apples
- Cut the puff pastry into 6 equal sized squares
- On the bottom left corner of each square, pile a large tbsp of Apple chunks, sprinkle with Raisins and dust with Cinnamon powder
- Mix the egg with the water. Brush the egg wash on the right corner edge of each square, then fold over to create a triangle
- Using a fork , gently press down to seal the edges ( see video)
- Brush each pastry with egg wash, prick each one with a fork to let the steam escape
- Sprinkle with Sugar, pop in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown

There is something very calming about working with pastry, the cutting, folding, brushing with egg wash, its such a delicate task, but one I thoroughly enjoy.
