Golden Syrup Cake

Syrup, in a cake! That is all kinds of right! Golden Syrup, is something we always have in the cupboard because the kids love it on their morning pancakes. I cannot tell you, just how delicious this cake is, you’re just going to have to try it! I have put together an easy, stress free recipe full of sunshine!

While the cake is still warm, brush with Golden syrup, for that gorgeous sticky glaze!

Golden Syrup Cake

Ingredients

200 g Golden Syrup

100 g Butter

100 g Caster Sugar

1 Egg

150 ml Milk

200 g Self- Raising Flour

3 tbsp Golden Syrup

    Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 160°c (140 fan)and line a loaf tin with baking paper

    Put the golden syrup, butter and sugar in a pan and melt on a low heat. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly.

    Whisk together the egg and milk and then mix into the cooled syrup mixture.

    Now stir in the flour and mix well with an electric mixer until smooth.

    Pour the batter into the loaf tin and bake for 50-60 minutes.

    While the cake is still warm brush on some golden syrup for that delicious sticky glaze
