This Dalgona Coffee Recipe packs a punch! Need an early morning zing to wake you up and energise you for the rest of the day ? This is the Coffee you want! Thick and creamy, a luxury Coffee that really looks the part, serve with my Homemade Chocolate and Orange Biscotti for a decadent indulgent breakfast.
What Is Dalgona Coffee?
Dalgona Coffee is a beverage made by whipping, water, sugar and Coffee granules, the name is derived from Dalgona, a Korean sugar candy, due to the resemblance in taste, and appearance.
What does Dalgona Coffee taste like?
It tastes a little like soft whipped Coffee ice cream. Its very sweet and definitely lingers on your palate much longer than other Coffees due to the thickness of the cream. Not sure how to convey this, but….it tastes posh! I’m not sure how you can accurately describe what posh tastes like? But I would wager this Coffee, is a posh folk kinda Coffee-I hope that makes sense ;o).
Is it easy to make?
Piece a cake! I rarely have time for fussing, especially in the morning. The whipped part contains 3 ingredients, add it to hot milk/or cold milk, your good to go!
Can I make it ahead of time?
Absolutely! The whipped part of your Dalgona Coffee will keep for many days in the fridge. Simply add to hot or cold milk.
How to Make Dalgona Coffee
Ingredients
Water- Just Boiled Water
Instant Coffee Granules- Any type of Instant Coffee will do, pick your favourite!
Sugar- Granulated is best, use White, Brown or Raw.
Milk- Whole, semi or Skimmed. Vegan alternatives such as Almond, Soy, Oat and Cashew Milk work well too.
The Basics
- Add the Hot water, Coffee Granules and sugar to a bowl, whisk until fluffy
- Fill a mug 2/3 of the way with hot milk or cold milk
- Top with the whipped Coffee

Dalgona Coffee
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp boiling water
- 3 tbsp Instant Coffee
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 2 mugs Milk
Instructions
- Place the Coffee, sugar and boiling water in a bowl , whisk until thick and fluffy.
- Heat the milk over a medium heat and pour into 2 mugs.
- Top with the Coffee Whip and sprinkle with a little Cocoa powder
