A lighter alternative to deep fried Chips/fries . These garlic and herb Chips are incredibly delicious and very easy to make. Cooked in 12 minutes! Here’s how I do it…
Not as NAUGHTY!
Here’s how I look at it ! Chips are made from potatoes, potatoes are a vegetable and vegetables are categorised as healthy!
However, that belief is somewhat spoiled once you plop them in oil and deep fry them. But my Chips are Air fried with only a tiny bit of oil, they may not be as good for the waistline as a plate of lettuce leaves….but what is?
Comparatively speaking these Chips are far healthier than the normal ones thanks to the Air Fryer. You’ll consume less fat and less calories, yet they will still be crisp on the outside and tender and soft within- trust me this recipe is a keeper!
How To Cut Homemade Air Fryer Chips
There are so many different ways to cut chips. You can go chunky like steak chips or skinny like Mcdonalds type fries. I went with the latter, mostly because I get a larger pile from each potato! Which helps trick the mind into thinking im eating more…even when im not!
Also, the thinner you cut them, the crispier they will be, as a guide mine were around 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch thickness. They also air fry quicker when skinnier- Should you choose to opt for chunky chips you will want to extend the cooking time by 2-4 minutes

TOP TIPS FOR MAKING gARLIC AND hERB AIR FRYER CHIPS
- Cut the potatoes evenly– This ensures an even cooking time for the batch
- Soak- Make Sure to Soak the Chips in Water before seasoning and cooking, this process will draw out the starch, making the chips more rigid and less likely to stick together. It helps to makes a crispier more delicious Chip!
- Don’t overcrowd the basket– As tempting as it may be, try not to overcrowd the basket. Too much overlapping will cause the chips to be less crispy
- Give them a shake!– Shake or turn the chips halfway through cooking for a nice evenly cooked turnout
