Ingredients

  • 150 g Butter
  • 130 g Golden Syrup
  • 50 g Granulated Sugar
  • 220 g Rolled Oats
  • Grated Orange Zest from one whole large Orange
  • 300 g Cooking Milk Chocolate (2 Large Bars)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180C and line a 8 inch round baking tin with baking paper
  • Place the Butter, Sugar and Golden Syrup in a pan and set over a low to medium heat. Stir gently until melted together
  • Add the Rolled Oats and melted Butter to a large mixing bowl and stir together until combined and the Oats are completely coated
  • Add the Orange zest and stir in until combined
  • Spoon the flapjack mixture into the lined round tin and press it down gently with the back of a spoon, making sure to level it out and mould it into every curve of the tin
  • Bake in the middle of the oven for 18-20 minutes until golden brown
  • Remove from the oven and set it aside to cool completely * You can take it out of the tin for now, but leave the paper attached.
  • Once completely cooled, place it back in the baking tin, with the paper still intact (The tin will act as firm mould for the chocolate to set)
  • Melt the Chocolate in the microwave for a few seconds at a time, stirring in-between until completely melted
  • Pour the melted Chocolate on top of the flapjack and spread out with the back of a spoon until the entire surface is covered. Tap the tin on your Kitchen worktop a couple of times to level the chocolate out.
  • Place in The Fridge for around 40 minutes for the chocolate to set
  • Once set, cut and serve!
