  • 1 Egg (room temperature)

For The Filling

  • 40 g Softened Butter
  • 70 g Dark Brown sugar
  • 1 tbs Ground Cinnamon

For The Icing

  • 200 g Icing Sugar
  • Water

Instructions

Make the dough:

  • Add the flour, sugar, and salt to a large bowl and mix togethor, then set aside.
  • Place the milk and butter in a pan and heat on low until the butter has melted. You want the mixture to be warm to the touch Not Hot.
  • Add the yeast to the milk and butter mixture and let it disolve. Then pour the milk and Butter mixture into the large bowl with the dry ingredients, add the egg, and stir togethor with a wooden spoon.
  • Once a dough forms transfer to a lighly floured surface and knead by hand for 5 minutes (Alternatively you can use a stand mixer) Knead until the dough is smooth and stretchy, if it feels a little too wet add sprinkles of flour until workable. Form a smooth ball and set aside for 10 minutes
  • After 10 minutes roll out the dough into a large rectangle

Filling

  • Spread the softened Butter over the entire surface, then in a small bowl mix together the Brown Sugar and Cinnamon. Generously prinkle the sugar mix on top of the butter, covering the whole surface.
  • Now Roll the dough to make a large log Cut the log into 10-12 pieces and place them in a lined pan (I used a Cast Iron Skillet)Cover with Cling film or a tea towel and set aside in a warm place for up to 2 hours until doubled in size

Bake

  • After the rise, Preheat the oven to 190 c and place in the centre for 25 minutes. ** Keep an eye on the rolls, if they seem to be browning too quickly cover them with baking paper and continue to bake
  • Once baked allow the rolls to cool before adding the icing

To make the icing

  • Add drops of water to the icing sugar and stir until you have a thick gloopy consistency. Pour the icing generously over the rolls and allow it to settle
  • Serve and Enjoy!
